Arncliffe is a popular residential suburb 12 km southwest of the Sydney CBD. Residents here love the mix of older, established neighbors who have lived in the neighborhood for decades and the influx of younger professionals and families. Housing-wise you'll find a collection of Victorian-style terraces, Federal-style homes, California bungalows, and some midrise apartments.
You won't find a foodie's dining scene here, or much of a nightlife, but it does have fantastic Lebanese food and you aren't far from other neighborhoods with more options. The nearby Rockdale Shopping Plaza has groceries and other basics.
There are a number of schools in the area catering to all ages. For recreation, there are several parks, the Kogarah Golf Club, which sits right on the Cooks River, and you're relatively close to the many beaches shooting off from Botany Bay.
While close to the city's international airport, it doesn't sit under the flight paths so avoids the noise pollution one might expect. And you're only 5 or 6 stops way from the CBD by train.
Arncliffe is bordered on the north by Turella and Wolli Creek, on the east by Cooks River, on the south by Banksia and Rockdale, and on the west by Bardwell Valley.
